People may spend hours in the Word of God, in fellowship with Christians, in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, and even in prayer without experiencing the life of God. Spiritual life begins in the heart, but it is lived from the inside out. “They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer. Awe came upon every soul and many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. They were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all as they had need. And day by day attending the temple together breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with gladness and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved” (Acts 2:42-47).
